Our history

Datus International School implements the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, known as the PYP as an IB World School. The PYP is an International Curriculum for students aged 3 – 11 years. It focuses on the development of the whole child, addressing social, physical, emotional and cultural needs. At the same time, it gives children a strong foundation in all the major areas of knowledge: Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Visual Arts, Music, Personal and Social Education and Physical Education. The PYP strives to help children develop an international perspective – to become aware of and sensitive to the points of view of people in other parts of the world.

Our graduates

Children graduate Datus International with the skills they need to succeed in every area of life. In surveys, kindergarten and first grade teachers report that Datus International School graduates are enthusiastic learners who are socially and academically ready for the years ahead.

We also offer various ‘immersion classes’ in the morning and afternoons in well sought-after foreign languages such as French, Spanish or Arabic. In some case however, we give bilingual lessons – although primarily, the native tongue of every in every standard classroom is English!

Our community

Our families come from nearby neighborhoods, creating a close-knit environment and strong parent partnerships. Whether we’re close to home or near the office, our center is ideal for busy working families and easy to get to – for pick-up and drop-off or to stop in for a visit.

We use fun, research-based, multi-sensory strategies to help children develop early learning skills, including Lively Letters, Open Court for phonics and literacy, Handwriting Without Tears, and Everyday Math. We use Responsive Classroom as the basis for our social and emotional learning curriculum throughout the school.

Your child’s health and safety are our top priority. Our center has strict guidelines for cleanliness and security and we’re proud to be recognized as a health-and-wellness model for child care centers by the Partnership for a Healthier America.
